Castello di Saltemnano
WHERE WE ARE
The agricultural – tourist inn “Castello di Saltemnano” is found in one of the most beautiful areas of the province of Siena: on the borders of the “Crete Senesi”, between Monteroni d' Arbia and Buonconvento.
Its position is very suggestive and easy to reach: in the middle of a rural area, about 1,5 km from the main road and from the village of Ponte d'Arbia. It is an ideal place for those who like walking or riding the bicycle.
Our swimming pool (8 x 16 mts) which is open during the beautiful season, is found in a panoramic position, with an enchanting all round view. All around it, there is a park, with a well-kept lawn and amusement facilities for children.
There are many neighbouring places of
interest, historical or cultural: Buonconvento
( 6 km) , Siena (23 km), S.Quirico
d'Orcia e Pienza (30 km)
and all the Val d'Orcia (declared by
UNESCO as property of mankind), S.Gimignano
( 60 km), and the abbies of Monteoliveto Maggiore
and S.Antimo .
Even Florence (about 80 km) , Arezzo
(70 km) and Perugia (about 100 km) are
easily reached in one day.
“Food and wine” is a
special interest and a good reason to come and visit us: Montalcino,
with its Brunello, is only 15 km away; Montepulciano,
with itsVino Nobile, is about 40 km, as
also all the area of the Chianti Classico.
There are also the Terme di Rapolano (about 25 km) and Bagno Vignoni (30 km), for those who enjoy the wellbeing of the thermal waters.
